George Bush Effects On Our Country
|
George Bush and his policies have had an adverse effect, to a certain extent, on our country. George Bush believes that it is his government’s primary objective to defend the country’s border and that is why the social programs within the country are not of prime importance.

We can see that healthcare and energy policy have not been given impetus. That is why we see the people have to take their own initiative in the free market prevalent in our country. The Bush administration firmly believes where profits cannot be made, charity should replace justice and the government should not get involved.
This would explain why the government and Bush administration took so long to respond after Hurricane Katrina struck Louisiana and Mississippi. There is no doubt that the Bush administration and George Bush, himself, is conservative and they place more emphasis on individuals acting alone without assistance from the government. During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, many Bush supporters publicly claimed that the people who chose to live in New Orleans had accepted the risk of hurricane and therefore, they did not have any right to accept assistance from the government.
George Bush is making sure that the citizens of United States no longer depend and rely on the federal government. This was evident when FEMA was no longer the first responder to natural disasters. Instead local agencies were expected to help people and this lead to the disastrous response to Hurricane Katrina.
Another aspect of George Bush that affects our country is the budget deficit. This deficit can be blamed completely on fiscal mismanagement. This is nothing but a conservative philosophy where the deficit makes sure that social programs cannot be funded. Instead, George Bush is strengthening the military because of the so-called perceived threat to America.
