Terrorism And Religion In The World
|
Many people believe that terrorism and religion go hand in hand, particularly Islam and terrorism. At least that is what we have seen from the images that are imprinted in minds from the 9/11 attacks, and this is what we believe wholeheartedly.

However, it would be wrong to say that terrorism and religion are interlinked because no religion justifies the killing of innocent people or taking lives of innocent people. None of us should look at terrorism as being from any particular religion, region, or because of issues like poverty and unemployment. If we do, it would be a great mistake on our part.
Terrorism is a global menace and it should be tackled globally. We should be aware that every terrorist organization in the world perpetuating terrorism has its own motivating factors which can be as a result of nationalistic aspirations, ethnic discrimination, political oppression or even a desire to save the planet from pollution.
Many diverse ideas tend to motivate terrorists and terrorism. The objective of terrorists is to gain attention by any means. However, there is no doubt that many use religion as motivating factor for terrorism. Most of us would agree that in today’s world post-9/11, it is religion that is the most basic catalyst. And, religious terrorists have a greater tendency of using weapons of mass destruction than secular terrorists.
Majority of terrorist attacks against Americans and American interests are not motivated by political or ethnic forces. Instead, Americans now have to face a generation of radical and absolutist terrorism which is definitely inspired by religious extremist. However, this sort of terrorism is not just restricted to America. It is rearing its ugly face all over the world including Europe, UK, Asia and Australia.
